First Friday Art Walk – November 2021

Discover Art Downtown at our Artist Reception at NexLynx Gallery of Arts, Friday November 5th from 5pm to 8pm. View the husband and wife artist duo, Vaughn & Susie Graber, during our First Friday Art Walk.

Vaughn Graber comes from a family of wood masters, passing down old-world quality workmanship in all of their products. He has made a variety of home furnishings for family members, including beds, coffee tables, picture frames, trophy cases, wall shelves, tack boxes, blanket chests, and much more. His pursuit of top-notch wood products has led to absolutely astounding pieces of wood art in the solid and segmented bowls that he turns on his lathe. Vaughn is a member of the Kansas Woodturners, Flint Hills Woodturners, American Association of Woodturners and the Topeka Sawdusters.

Susie Graber loves to create and paint the things around her, making the world her playground. She grew up on a farm so the love of the country is expressed in her work. There is so much beauty in the countryside, such as wildflowers and crows, and it gives her pleasure to paint it. Susie prefers watercolor over other mediums because of the transparent nature of the paints. In addition to painting, she is also a woodcarver and cloth sculpture artist.
