First Friday Art Walk – August 2016
Discover Art Downtown at NexLynx Gallery of Arts, Friday August 5th from 5pm to 8pm, to view the diverse photography of Tom Stubbs during our First Friday Art Walk.
NexLynx is Downtown Topeka’s premier gallery stop on the First Friday Art Walk since November 2010 displaying hundreds of original photographs, paintings, carvings and sculptures from dozens of local and regional artists.
Starting as a Black and White photographer, Tom learned early on the importance of good composition. After winning the grand prize in an all campus photo contest at Purdue University, he knew he had a certain knack for photography and has been working at it ever since. Tom’s subject matter is quite eclectic. His style is clean and impactful.
He recently won grand prize at Warehouse 414 exhibit “Bold and Bright” and a few months later, second place in their “Black and White” exhibition. Tom has participated in the art show circuit in surrounding states and has shown at the Mulvane Art fair for the past 6 years.
Not only has Tom won local awards, his work has also been published nationally, twice in Shutterbug Magazine and Trail Runner magazine. Sponsored by Popular Photography Magazine, his image, “Fuel for the Mother Road,” was recently runner up in “Great American Country” station’s “Search for Americana.” Feel free to contact Tom at tom.stubbs.photography@gmail.com for more information about his work.
