First Friday Art Walk – March 2016
Stop by NexLynx Gallery of Arts, Friday March 4th from 5pm to 8pm, to view the intricate works by Pradeep Bangalore, who has now adapted to the world of Dynamic Computer Graphics during our First Friday Art Walk.
NexLynx is Downtown Topeka’s premier gallery stop on the First Friday Art Walk since November 2010 displaying hundreds of original photographs, paintings, carvings and sculptures from dozens of local and regional artists.
Pradeep’s interest in computer graphics and animation influenced him to learn 3-D computer modeling, shifting his creativity to constructing fine art utilizing a blend of cutting edge Laser and computer graphics. He calls this process “Lasered Layers”. The three dimensional artwork consists of painstakingly assembled multiple layers of intricately laser-cut sheets of paper.
His earlier pursuits included a variety of mediums such as color pencils, oil pastels, water colors, oil colors & clay modeling influenced by the rich variety of traditional cultural art of south India.
Pradeep’s art is inspired from images and patterns in nature which are transformed into black and white sketches on paper which are scanned and reduced to 2-D vector art. Then cut on acid free card stock using a fine laser beam. The texture of paper and airbrushing adds beauty and color. The laser cutting process adds dimension and shading of the edges.
