First Friday Art Walk – January 2016
Stop by NexLynx Gallery of Arts, Friday, January 8th from 5pm to 8pm, to view the watercolor paintings of talented artist Deb Hanes-Nelson during our Second Friday Art Walk.
NexLynx is one of Downtown Topeka’s premier gallery stops on the First Friday Art Walk since November 2010 displaying hundreds of original photographs, paintings, carvings and sculptures from dozens of local and regional artists.
Deb Hanes-Nelson, a retired pastor with the love of watercolor, focuses on small town and rural life activities and places.
Her paintings are a mix of nostalgia and current trends found in everyday life in this part of the country. The paintings and scriptural titles are meant to bring a bit of joy, hope, and positive energy to life.
She has had two paintings accepted in the Kansas Watercolor Society’s National Exhibition in Wichita. The painting, “The Discerning Look” was accepted in 2015 and “Sons of Jubal – Genesis 4:21” in 2013.
Deb teaches watercolor classes to both children and adults at her Studio and Gallery. You can view more of Deb’s work at debhanesnelson.weebly.com.
